Sign in fall, swim in spring
The best time to sign a pool contract in Pennsylvania is September through December. That gives us the winter window to break ground, pour concrete, and finish plaster in time for Memorial Day the following year.
Sign in April and you'll typically be swimming in July or August of the next year — every reputable Delaware County builder is booked solid by then.
Winter construction actually works
Gunite can be sprayed in PA winters as long as temperatures stay above freezing during the pour and 24 hours after. Rebar and framing happen fine year-round. Plaster is the one phase that needs 40°F+ ambient temperature.
We routinely break ground on our winter Pool Design contracts in January or February and finish plaster in April or early May.
Summer signings
Summer signings usually mean a next-year build. There's simply not enough dry-weather window between signing and Labor Day to complete a full gunite installation. What we CAN do same-season is design + permit prep, then break ground the moment weather cooperates.
Renovation timing
Renovations — replastering, tile & coping, equipment upgrades — are best scheduled fall through early spring. Your pool sits dormant anyway, and the work finishes in time for a fresh opening. Book by late summer for the best calendar slots.
